Spring Tide – a new wave of art in Tooting
We are delighted to extend an invitation to all artists to submit their works that celebrate the essence of spring for our forthcoming group exhibition at MAGAN GALLERY curated by Agnieszka Lokaj and hosted by Gosia Oldakowski-Pacak. This exhibition coincides with Wandsworth being the London Borough of Culture 2025, a year to show how culture can spark joy, making us feel happier, healthier and more connected to each other.
Theme: Spring signifies renewal, connection and joy. This exhibition seeks to illustrate the journey of transformation that occurs during this season, inviting artists to express their interpretations of spring’s essence.
Submissions deadline: 1 May 2025 extended to the 4th of May!
Exhibition: 22 May to 7 June 2025
Submission guidelines
What to Submit
This opportunity is open to all visual artists at any stage of their careers. Artwork must be original, created within the last two years, and available for exhibition during the specified dates. We accept a wide range of mediums, including:
- Jewellery: Original handcrafted pieces are welcome for submission.
- Paintings: Dimensions may reach a maximum of 1 metre in both height and width;
- Photography: Dimensions may reach a maximum of 1 metre in both height and width;
- Small Sculptures: Works should not exceed height or depth of 30 cm;
- Ceramics: Pieces are limited to a maximum height or depth of 30 cm.
All two-dimensional works submitted must be framed or suitably prepared for display hanging.
Submission Fee
**The early bird offer has now ended**
A non-refundable submission fee of £15 applies for the first artwork. For each additional piece under 50cm in width or height, a fee of £10 will be charged (up to a total of 3 artworks). If any artwork exceeds 50cm in height or width, a fee of £20 will apply for the second and third submissions.
For jewellery submissions, the fee is £15 for the first set of 3 pieces, and £10 for each additional set of 3 (max 9). Please remember that when paying for jewellery, three pieces count as one entry. If you use the quick payment option on the agalokaj.art website, three pieces of jewellery correspond to one entry ticket (for example, if you are submitting 9 pieces, you should select the “3 entries” option).
Example:
If you are submitting 3 paintings, one of which exceeds 50 cm in width or height, your submission fee is £15 + £20 + £20, which totals £55.
If you are submitting 3 paintings and none of them exceeds 50 cm in width or height, the fee is £15 + £10 + £10, which totals £35.
If you are submitting 9 pieces of jewellery, your submission fee is £35 (£15 + £10 +£10).
⚠️ This fee covers administrative costs and does not guarantee selection for the exhibition!
If your work is selected, the fee will be credited toward the exhibition fee for the artwork.
If your work is not selected, the submission fee remains non-refundable, and the artwork(s) will not be exhibited.
Applications must be submitted in full accordance with the guidelines. Incomplete or incorrectly submitted entries may be excluded from the selection process.
How to Apply
Please complete both steps using the links available on our website:
- Pay the submission fee (details below).
- Fill out the online submission form, including all required details and artwork images.
⚠️ Your application will only be considered complete once both the payment and the submission form have been submitted.
Selection Process
Artworks for the “Spring Tide” exhibition will be selected by a curatorial committee.
Selected artists will be notified via email shortly after 7 May 2025.

- significantly different from their submitted description or images (e.g. size, framing);
- improperly framed or unfit for display
may be excluded from the final exhibition at the curator’s discretion.
We are unable to provide individual feedback.
The committee’s decision is final and non-negotiable.
