Spring Tide 2026 – a new wave of art in Tooting

We are delighted to invite artists to submit their work for “Spring Tide 2026 – a new wave of art in Tooting”, a group exhibition at MAGAN Gallery hosted by Gosia Oldakowski-Pacak

This exhibition celebrates the spirit of spring – renewal, connection, and joy – exploring how art can uplift, inspire, and bring people together.

Theme

Spring signifies transformation, growth, and new beginnings. We welcome artworks that interpret the essence of this season in personal, symbolic, or abstract ways.

How to Submit

Step 1: Application Submission
Submit your application via the online form by uploading images of your artwork.
A non-refundable application processing fee of £10 applies.
If selected, this fee will be deducted from the submission fee for the artist’s first accepted artwork.
The remaining submission fee must be paid within 2 days of notification to confirm participation in the exhibition.
Applications must be submitted by midnight on 11 May 2026 (UK time).

Step 2: Selection Process
All submissions will be reviewed by the curatorial team.
Selected artists will be notified on 14 May 2026 (by the end of the day, UK time).
In case of a high volume of submissions, notifications may be issued the following day

Step 3: Final Submission Fee (Selected Artists Only)
Only selected artists will be required to pay the applicable submission fee via the MAGAN Gallery website.
Payment must be completed within 2 days of notification to confirm participation in the exhibition.
Failure to complete payment within this timeframe may result in withdrawal from the exhibition.

What to Submit

This open call is available to artists at all stages of their careers.

Wall-Based Works
1. Painting
2. Photography
3. Print

Maximum size: 1m × 1m

All works must be framed and professionally prepared for hanging.
Each artwork must have appropriate D-rings or mirror plates installed on the back (no sawtooth hangers).
Hanging fixtures must be securely installed and suitable for a cord-based gallery hanging system (STAS).

The gallery will not modify or install hanging hardware.
Artworks that do not meet these requirements may be refused.

Display-Based Works
1. Sculpture
2. Ceramics
3. Jewellery

Maximum size:
25 cm (height/depth), 40 cm (width)

The gallery reserves the right to decline works that are deemed unsuitable in scale or presentation.

How to Label Artworks

All artworks must be clearly labelled on the back with the following information:

  • artist name
  • artwork title
  • medium
  • dimensions (cm)
  • price (£)

Labels must be securely attached and easy to read.
Please ensure that the information provided matches the details submitted in your application form.
Unlabelled or incorrectly labelled artworks may not be accepted.

Submission Fees (Selected Artists Only)

Each artist may submit up to three artworks.

Due to space considerations, artworks measuring more than 50cm × 50cm are limited to a maximum of two pieces per artist.


The prices below already include a £10 deduction from the first accepted artwork, reflecting the non-refundable application fee paid upon submission.

Wall-Based Work
Small works (under 50 cm):
  £10 (1st work), 
  £15 (2nd & 3rd)
 
Large works (over 50 cm): 
  £15 (1st work)
  £32 (2nd work)
 
Display-Based Works
Sculpture or Ceramics

  £10 (1st work), £15 (2nd & 3rd)

Jewellery (Special Format)
  £10 per set (up to 3 pieces)
  £15 per additional set (max. 9 pieces total)

Requirements

* All works must be original and created within the last two years
* Works must be available for the full exhibition period
* All artworks must be located in the UK at the time of submission
Submissions requiring international shipping will not be accepted.

Delivery & Collection

Artists must arrange delivery and collection of their artworks independently.
All artworks must be delivered to and collected from:
MAGAN Gallery, 16 Trinity Road, London SW17 7RE
during the gallery’s opening hours only, unless agreed in advance.
The gallery does not offer shipping, storage, or return services.
All transport is the sole responsibility of the artist.

Please note that MAGAN Gallery operates on limited opening days and hours. Full opening times are available on our website or will be provided upon selection.

Presentation & Selection

All works must be professionally presented and ready for display.

MAGAN Gallery reserves the right to refuse artworks that:

  • differ significantly from the submitted images
  • do not meet presentation standards

The final selection and the number of exhibited works per artist are at the curator’s discretion.

In the event that an artwork is not exhibited following acceptance and payment, the following conditions apply:

  • Where an artwork is withdrawn due to curatorial reasons, any applicable submission fees will be refunded.
  • If an artwork is refused due to not meeting the stated requirements or differing significantly from the submitted images, the submission fee is non-refundable.

Sales & Commission

A commission of 35% will be applied to all sales.

Selected artworks may be exhibited and offered for sale both in the gallery and online via
www.magangallery.com

Payments to artists will be made within 14 days of the sale, upon receipt of a valid invoice.

MAGAN Gallery is not responsible for the level of exposure or promotion of individual artworks.

Online Presentation

Selected artworks may be published, displayed, and offered for sale on the MAGAN Gallery website, including:
  • artwork images
  • artist name
  • artwork details
  • a short description of the work and its creative direction

Please ensure that all submitted information is accurate and corresponds to the artwork labelling provided upon delivery.

MAGAN Gallery reserves the right to edit submitted text for clarity and consistency.

Insurance & Liability

While every care will be taken, MAGAN Gallery cannot accept liability for loss or damage.
Artists are advised to arrange their own insurance.

Eligibility

Submissions are open to all artists.
All artworks must be physically located in the UK at the time of submission.
Submissions requiring international shipping will not be accepted.

Publicity

By submitting your work, you grant permission to MAGAN Gallery and its representatives to use images of your artwork for promotional purposes related to this exhibition and its future editions.

Copyright

Artists retain full copyright of their submitted artworks.

By submitting to the open call, artists grant MAGAN Gallery a non-exclusive right to use images of the artworks for promotional, marketing, and archival purposes related to the exhibition and its future editions.
